The Gowanus Sound Initiative and OLIVER STONE

The Gowanus Sound Initiative's Daron Murphy has had the honor composing music for legendary director, Oliver Stone, in an anti-war commercial for MoveOn.org. An urgent appeal to bring U.S. troops home now, the spot tells the story of Sgt. John Bruhns' experience at war in Iraq. As a veteran of the war in Vietnam, Stone brings a very personal gravitas to the proceedings. Check it out on our Commercials reel.

The Gowanus Sound Initiative lent their composition and music supervision skills to for Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's inauguration celebration this month. The music of a Democratic majority sounds GOOD.

Gowanus Sound Initiative to score MoveOn.org documentary.

Daron Murphy has signed on to score an as-yet-untitled, feature-length documentary on the influential progressive political group MoveOn.org. The film will be directed by award-winning French journalist Alex Jordanov and produced by the same folks who brought us Fahrenheit 9/11. Stay tuned for more updates…

Gowanus Sound Initiative remixes Moby!

Daron Murphy has been asked to create a remix for “New York, New York,” the lead single from Go: The Very Best of Moby. The brand-new track features vocals by Blondie’s Debbie Harry.
